Stephanie has been playing the piano for 26 years, and teaching piano lessons for 11 years. She grew up in Vista, California. She attended the world re-known Palomar College, in San Marcos, California and studied music, Midi (computer music) biology, french, interior design, Children's Music and child development.
She moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in March of 1998 to be near her family. She taught at St. Boniface elementary school as the music teacher in the 1998/99 school year. She met her husband and married, in August 1999. They now reside in Cheviot, Ohio, with their three year old son, where Stephanie teaches paino lessons and is a work-at-home mom. Stephanie has a family business that sells baby slings and carriers that she hand sews.
She is also the founder of the local playgroup Cincinnati Attached Parents. Stephanie was the church pianist/musical director at Cincinnati Word of Faith Church located on North Bend Road in Cincinnati, Ohio. Now that she has a toddler she is the Children's Department director, and teaches Children's Church on Sunday's. She has also studied Violin since age 8. Stephanie can play the piano by ear, and works to teach her students this same fine art as well. She was the head musician/musical director at Charismatic Christian Church in Vista, California for 9 years as their church pianist. She was the show choir pianist at Rancho Buena Vista High School, in Vista, California, for the 1992/93 school year.
Stephanie specializes in improvisation, as well as gospel, music theory, notation (note reading), keyboarding skills, classical, playing by ear, MIDI (computer music) and composition. She enjoys working with each student to find their unique learning style, and musical interests.Stephanie has found through her years of teaching, that children who have a skill that they are confident in, do well in other skills, and areas as well. There has been a lot of research on this topic lately in the science community, which has lead to suggest that students who learn music, perform better in science, math, and English, as well as receive higher scores on their S.A.T.'s. You may have noticed the pop music culture and their " Save the Music " campaign, in the media lately.
